Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators seeks a qualified athletic program administrator to oversee the athletics program at all levels, ensure student welfare, and coordinate coaching staff and events.

Responsibilities include equipment management, scheduling contests with the Assistant Principal of Athletics, and maintaining compliance with IHSA rules while engaging stakeholders such as parents and booster clubs.

Qualifications

• PEL, SUB or ASEP certification required.
• Coaching experience at high school varsity level preferred.
• Playing experience at high school varsity level preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work with staff, students and community stakeholders to build a successful program.

Responsibilities

• Oversee welfare and safety of all athletes in the program.
• Assign duties to assistant coaches working in the program.
• Develop and organize in-season and off-season activities.
• Maintain equipment and perform regular inventories.
• Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as needed.
• Coordinate with the Assistant Principal of Athletics to schedule interscholastic contests.
• Stay current with trends in the sport and ensure eligibility of participants.
• Maintain relationships with parents, Booster Club, PTO, and community organizations.
• Ensure compliance with Conference Calendar, IHSA Coaches Handbook, and IHSA rules.
• Attend required events or meetings and incorporate the Six Pillars of Character Counts.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Principal of Athletics or Principal.
