Job summary

Bradshaw Mountain High School West in Prescott Valley, AZ seeks a Boys Junior Varsity Basketball Coach to support development of student-athletes through instruction, leadership, and mentorship. The role works with the Head Coach to align the JV program with the overall basketball pathway, fostering skill growth, sportsmanship, and academic achievement.

The JV Coach will plan practices, oversee conduct, and assist with scouting, game prep, and player evaluations.

Qualifications

• Previous basketball coaching and/or playing experience at high school, collegiate, or comparable level.
• Knowledge of basketball fundamentals, offensive/defensive systems, and player development.
• Ability to motivate, mentor, and build positive relationships with student-athletes.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Valid IVP fingerprint clearance and ability to obtain CPR/First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices that develop basketball fundamentals and team concepts.
• Assist in implementing the program's philosophy, systems, and expectations.
• Instruct student-athletes in rules, strategies, and techniques of basketball.
• Establish standards of conduct, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
• Promote academic success and monitor eligibility of student-athletes.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, contests, travel, and related activities.
• Prepare athletes physically and mentally for competition with safety in mind.
• Assist with game preparation, scouting, and in-game coaching responsibilities.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, administration, and staff.
• Ensure compliance with district, school, and association policies.
