Job summary

Valley Vista High School - Surprise, AZ is seeking a 0.50 FTE JV Boys Basketball Coach to lead and develop a student athletic program. The role requires a valid Arizona teaching or coaching certification and previous coaching success within the sport.

You will work under the Assistant Principal of Athletics, maintaining ethical standards, community rapport, and compliance with NFHS certifications and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Valid Arizona teaching certification, or Arizona coaching certification, or NFHS Level 1 Certification (Head/Varsity).
• Previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport.
• NFHS courses: Fundamentals of Coaching, Heat Illness Prevention, Concussion in Sports; Cheer & Dance safety certs for cheer positions.

Responsibilities

• Coach student athletes in area of assigned responsibility.
• Organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
• Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
• Other job related duties as assigned.
