Job summary

Lorena ISD is seeking a dedicated Teacher/Coach to provide students with engaging learning experiences aimed at fulfilling their potential in all areas of growth. The role includes instructing students in academics as well as coaching in athletics, focusing on both individual development and teamwork.

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate, and demonstrate strong coaching techniques, managerial skills, and a commitment to community engagement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of student teaching or approved internship.
• Experience as a coach or participant in a sport assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements plans for curriculum program.
• Employs a variety of teaching strategies.
• Maintains appropriate records and follows procedures.
• Encourages student enthusiasm for the learning process.
• Assumes responsibility for extracurricular activities.

Skills

Knowledge of the core academic subject assigned

General knowledge of curriculum and instruction

Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures

Knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

Valid Texas teaching certificate with 4-8 Generalist Certification
