Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking an Assistant Coach for a Mineral County school, under the WVSSAC schedule. The position is extracurricular and seasonal, with supervision by the Principal/Head Coach.

The role includes assisting in instruction, discipline, and management of athletic activities, with compensation per the Mineral County Coaching Salary Schedule. Performance is evaluated by the building principal and WV policy standards.

Qualifications

• Professional Teaching Certificate or Eligibility for Coaching Authorization.
• Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10, as appropriate

Responsibilities

• Exhibits professional and interpersonal relations.
• Develops rapport with coaching staff within the school.
• Assists with implementing fundamental sports skills and systems as directed by the head coach.
• Designs quality organization of practice sessions and pre-season planning.
• Assists in providing leadership and support in planning, developing and implementing an instructional program in the sport as assigned by the coach.
