Job summary

West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking an Assistant Coach to support the head coach in instructing student athletes and guiding them toward personal and team goals. The position is extracurricular and follows the Mineral County Coaching Salary Schedule with season-long duties as approved by the Principal.

Qualifications

• Professional Teaching Certificate or eligibility for Coaching Authorization.
• Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10, as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Assists the head coach in instructing student athletes and preparing them to achieve personal and team goals.
• Develops rapport with coaching staff, students, parents, and community; upholds professional conduct during games and practices.
• Assists in preseason planning, skill development, and implementation of game management systems as directed by the head coach.
