Job summary

PLUM POINT MIDDLE SCHOOL in Huntingtown, Maryland is seeking a Boys Baseball Head Coach for the Spring Season. The head coach will lead the program with an athlete-centered philosophy, supervise assistants, and foster positive values while prioritizing safety and skill development.

Reports to the principal/AD and collaborates with district policies. The role requires completing Maryland coaching certifications by year one and attaining NFHS certification.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated management and leadership abilities.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in decisions.
• Experience supervising athletes or similar programs.
• Must meet Maryland coaching certification requirements by end of first year.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an athlete-centered coaching philosophy.
• Identify, model and teach positive values and behaviors through sports.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct.
• Prevent injuries by ensuring safety of facility and equipment.
• Monitor environmental conditions and modify participation as needed.
• Design and implement training, conditioning, recovery and nutrition program for the team.
• Organize and plan practices to maximize performance and time on task.
• Fulfill legal responsibilities and risk management procedures.
