Carter Lumber Company in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Delivery Specialist to transport orders safely and deliver with a friendly, professional attitude. You will use a company vehicle to meet daily schedules and assist customers at the door.

When deliveries slow, you may help in the yard to reach weekly hours, and you’ll be part of a growing team that values reliability and people-first service.

Qualifications

• Delivery experience with materials or large items preferred.
• Must have an acceptable driving record; valid chauffeur/license per state requirements.
• Candidate should be a team player with a friendly, customer-service-driven attitude.
• Familiarity with building materials or delivery equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Transport orders to customers safely and on time using a company vehicle.
• Ensure daily delivery schedules are met and provide friendly, professional service.
• Assist customers at delivery with unloading or positioning items as needed.
• When deliveries slow, help in the yard to meet weekly hours.

Description

As one of our Delivery Specialists, you will be responsible for transporting orders to customers in a safe and timely manner using a company vehicle. You will ensure that daily delivery schedules are met while providing friendly and professional customer service. If deliveries slow down, you have the opportunity to help in the Yard to ensure you reach your weekly hours goal.

Requirements

• Previous delivery experience, preferably with building materials, furniture, appliances and other large items that need to be handled with care
• An acceptable driving record (some states require a chauffeur, class C or class D license)
• Familiarity with building materials and delivery equipment is preferred
• Ability to be a team player
• A friendly, customer-service-driven personality
