Job summary

Summit Appliance is seeking a box truck driver to make local and regional deliveries from Edison, NJ. You will drive a 24-foot straight truck with a liftgate, loading and unloading appliances and ensuring on-time delivery.

The role operates Monday through Friday with no weekends or overnights, with some overtime possible. CDL A or B with medical card is required, and safety compliance is emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL Class A or B with current medical card.
• Minimum 3 years of driving Class A/B vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload and deliver major appliances, including refrigerators and ranges.
• Pick up transfer merchandise at NY warehouse and other locations.
• Assist warehouse with loading for same-day deliveries.
• Collect CODs as directed and check bills of lading for accuracy.
• Maintain DOT compliance and perform daily vehicle inspections.

We are a manufacturer and distributor of major appliances, including vaccine, healthcare and life science refrigeration. We seek a box truck driver to make local and regional deliveries out of our Edison, NJ facility. This position is a Monday thorugh friday with no weekends and no overnights.Some paid overtime may be required. You will be driving a 24 foot straight truck with a liftgate .

Truck Driver Responsibilities

• Drivers are responsible for loading, unloading and delivering major household appliances (Appliances include, but not limited to, refrigerators, ranges, chest freezers and more)
• Pick up transfer merchandise at NY warehouse and other locations.
• Assist the warehouse team with the loading trucks for same day.
• Collect COD's as directed.
• Check merchandise against bills of lading for accuracy.
• Fill out log books and comply with DOT regulations at all times.
• Daily inspection of vehicle for safety.
• Attend driver training classes as offered by the company.
• Stay current on motor vehicle rules and regulations.
• Keep vehicle clean and well maintained.
• Report any safety or vehicle deficiencies to management.
• Other relater duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduate
• CDL Class A or B required with current medical card
• 3 years driving Class A or B vehicles

Rate of pay

$21.00-$23.00 / hour based on experience
