Job summary

Welch Packaging Group is looking for a dedicated Truck Driver to operate tractor-trailers or box trucks in Indianapolis, Indiana. Responsibilities include delivering finished products to customers and maintaining vehicle standards per company and regulatory policies.

This position requires a High School Diploma or GED and a CDL B License. Candidates with prior experience driving large vehicles and knowledge of safe driving practices will be preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior experience driving in large vehicles, such as box truck or similar.
• Demonstrated experience practicing safe driving practices.
• Previous experience delivering and handling freight preferred.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY

Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor-trailer or box truck to deliver finished product to customers in accordance with state and federal laws

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Complies with Driver responsibilities as outlined in company DAART program and as required by DOT…
• Maintain vehicle in accordance to Elkhart Transportation management policy
• Operates vehicle in a safe and efficient manner complying with company policy and procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.
• Support on time delivery by transporting loads by established route to proper destination as efficient as possible while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Inspect trailer loads to ensure proper loading processes and it is the correct load before leaving facility.
• Verify product count while truck is being loaded.
• Comply with obtaining correct acknowledgement or signature and date for bill of lading and necessary signatures and date; return properly completed documentation to Transportation Manager.
• Comply with performance measures

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• CDL B License

Experience
