Job summary

Sterling North America Inc. is hiring a full-time Box Truck Driver/Packer for our new Hauppauge, NY facility. You will pack, ship and transport orders to customers, operate a forklift, and maintain accurate shipping records.

The role requires a valid NY driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and reliable teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Shifts run 05:00 PM - 1:00 AM, with weekly pay and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k with employer match,

Qualifications

• Valid NY driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to read maps and follow written or verbal geographical directions.
• Must be a team player, dependable and reliable.
• Ability to regularly lift and move items up to 50lbs without assistance.
• Good communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Must be available to work assigned shift and overtime if required.
• Ability to follow orders with minimum supervision.
• Ability to write and speak effectively in English.
• Knowledge of Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick-up orders and returns.
• Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
• Load and unload work and delivery vans and trucks.
• Prepare all orders for shipment, fill and ship orders.
• Operate a forklift, pack and shrink wrap boxes and skids.
• Turn in receipts received from deliveries.
• Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
• Report any mechanical problems encountered delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to Supervisor or Manager.
• Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
• Other duties as directed by supervisor.
