Job summary

Job description

Principal Function:

The Box Truck Driver is responsible for transporting and delivering items for NOW Courier customers in a company provided vehicle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Picks up and delivers product in a timely fashion as schedule indicates
• Maintains reports and log books while performing duties
• Obeys traffic laws and follows established traffic and transportation procedures
• Operates and maintains equipment in a safe manner at all times
• Loads and unloads product for stock or delivery
• Interprets maps and driving directions to operate the most efficient route service
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies as prescribed by company procedures
• Reports any mechanical problems encountered with truck or equipment
• Verifies contents of product loads
• Reports delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to dispatch or manager
• Assists with warehouse operations, including sorting freight and dismantling shipping containers

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

While the offices of NOW Courier are open from 8AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday, this job may require work beyond these hours and on the weekends.
