Job summary

PowerPak is seeking an Overnight Line-Haul driver based in Congers, NY, with trips to Hanover, MD. The role runs five nights weekly, departing Congers at 8:00 PM, with return freight and a fixed route that requires reliability and attention to safety.

Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, a DOT medical card, and experience driving a 26-foot box truck on long-distance highway routes. This full-time, hourly position is overtime eligible.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license and a driving record (MVR) that meets our safety and insurance standards
• Experience driving a 26-foot box truck or similar commercial vehicle, including long-distance highway driving
• A current DOT medical card
• Working knowledge of DOT hours-of-service rules and electronic logs
• Ability to work a consistent overnight schedule, Monday through Friday
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Drive the scheduled overnight route from Congers, NY to Hanover, MD and arrive within the receiving window (about half your shift)
• Run pre-trip and post-trip inspections, check your load against the transfer paperwork, and secure and seal cargo
• Follow DOT hours-of-service rules and log your time accurately in Samsara
• Hand off the load to Hanover receiving, get signed paperwork, and report any shortages, overages, or damage
• Load and bring back return freight from Hanover as assigned
• Keep leadership updated in real time on your departure, ETA, delays, and any incidents
• Help on the dock before departure when needed, including staging and loading outbound transfers

Overnight Line-Haul | Congers, NY to Hanover, MD

• Pay: $21 per hour
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, overnight. Departs Congers at 8:00 PM.
• Type: Full-time, hourly, overtime eligible
• Location: Congers, NY Distribution Center, with a nightly run to our Hanover, MD Distribution Center
• Reports To: Fulfillment & Operations Manager

THE JOB

PowerPak supplies contractors, utilities, and municipalities with the site and safety products they need to keep work moving. Our Congers, NY and Hanover, MD distribution centers depend on each other, and this role is the link between them.

Five nights a week, you’ll take a 26-foot box truck from Congers to Hanover, leaving at 8:00 PM, so the Maryland team has inventory ready for next-day orders. Then you’ll bring return freight back to New York as assigned. It’s a set route on a set schedule. You’ll work on your own for most of the night, so we need someone we can count on to show up, drive safe, and call in when something changes.

What You’ll Do

How Success Is Measured

• 98% or better on-time departures and arrivals
• 99.5% or better load accuracy, with no driver-caused shortages, overages, or damage
• Zero preventable incidents and zero hours-of-service violations

What You Need

• A valid driver’s license and a driving record (MVR) that meets our safety and insurance standards
• Experience driving a 26-foot box truck or similar commercial vehicle, including long-distance highway driving
• A current DOT medical card
• Working knowledge of DOT hours-of-service rules and electronic logs
• Ability to work a consistent overnight schedule, Monday through Friday
• High school diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have

• CDL Class B
• 2 or more years of regional or line-haul experience
• Experience with Samsara or a similar ELD platform
• Familiarity with the I-95 corridor between New York and Maryland

THE PHYSICAL SIDE

• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 75 lbs with a team lift
• Loading and unloading with a pallet jack and liftgate, including bending, reaching, and climbing in and out of the truck
• Sitting for several hours at a time on overnight highway drives
• Night driving and dock work in all kinds of weather
