Job Description

JOB DETAILS

Base pay starts at $21.00 per hour

Shift: Day Shift, Full-Time

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Driver will be expected to use a Box Truck for transporting products to customer locations. This position is also required to load and unload products into the trailer and at customer locations.

• Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of vehicles
• Responsible for delivering the correct product to customers and completing all required paperwork accurately
• Perform vehicle inspections as required by company policy and law to ensure safety and proper vehicle maintenance
• Comply with all regulations, rules, and company procedures while performing job duties
• Report all road hazards observed during the route
• Make deliveries or pickups, obtain signed receipts, and ensure accurate product counts and secure loading of return merchandise when authorized
• Immediately report all accidents and injuries, including DOT roadside inspections, regardless of damage or injury extent
• Report the condition of the equipment used at the end of each trip and submit daily paperwork
• Determine the shortest and safest route for deliveries according to the trip plan
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT regulations (FMCR)
• Ensure trip paperwork, permit book, accident kit, load, and safety equipment are in order before departure; report discrepancies to a dispatcher
• Interact courteously and professionally with dispatchers, staff, and customers
• Complete delivery tickets, obtain customer signatures, and note discrepancies
• Notify customer service of any issues related to customer orders
• Understand and comply with state and federal regulations and company policies
• Complete trip records, including odometer readings at borders, last delivery, and pickups
• Maintain up-to-date Driver Daily Logs reflecting duty status changes
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Shipping Manager

Qualifications

• Valid Class B driver's license (preferred but not required)
• Clean driving record and at least 2 years of delivery driver experience
• One year of manual labor, commercial driving, and manual transmission experience (preferred)
• Must be DOT compliant
• Experience reading maps and using electronic GPS
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly above shoulder height and below waist
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (preferred)
• Demonstrated efficiency in job duties
