Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Lakewood, WA is hiring a full-time delivery driver for the day shift. You will read maps, drive a box truck, and deliver to local construction sites, with half the time spent loading/unloading and half on the road.

Responsibilities include maintaining logs and DOT compliance, communicating clearly with customers, and following safety procedures. Benefits start day 1 and include health, dental, vision, 401k and PTO.

Qualifications

• Must be DOT compliant.
• 2 years of box truck driving experience, including winter driving.
• Ability to read, write and perform simple calculations for receipts, maps, and logs.
• Ability to follow directions via on-board computer system and by phone.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to work independently.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks; spend ~50% time loading/unloading and 50% driving.

Job Details

Pay: $27.00 per hour

Shift: Day Shift, Full Time

Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with general public, understand highway traffic signs/signals, respond to inquiries and to make entries on reports/records per DOT Reg 391.11
• Complete all assigned delivery routes out of Lakewood & Auburn. Driver will deliver to local construction jobsites and is responsible for manually offloading product
• Address customer questions, issues and concerns in a professional and timely fashion
• Represent the company in a professional manner at all times in both actions and personal appearance
• Adhere to Cascade policies and procedures
• Complete all delivery and return documentation accurately and legibly
• Maintain driver logs and inspections
• Maintain equipment in a neat, clean and organized condition
• Uphold all safety practices according to safety handbook and DOT regulations
• Load and unload trucks and assist others with loading and unloading
• Will spend 50% time loading/unloading and 50% of the time driving

Qualifications

• Must be DOT compliant
• 2 years of previous Box Truck driving experience including winter driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)
• Ability to read, write and perform simple mathematical calculations with general mental ability to handle receipts, read maps, read road signs, maintain logs, etc.
• Ability to follow instructions and take directions via on-board computer system and by phone
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist with or without assistance
• Ability to communicate well both verbally and written
• Must be able to work independently
• Ability to work effectively with people in a fast-paced environment

The US pay for this full-time position is $27.00 per hour + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. (Full-time is defined as regularly working 30+ hours per week. Union programs may vary depending on the collective bargaining agreement.)
