Job summary

Daniels Health is seeking a customer-focused Class B driver to operate a 26 ft box truck in the Taylor, MI area. The role involves collecting sharps and medical waste, delivering service with a high level of safety and professionalism, and maintaining routes per schedule.

You will load/unload, follow DOT regulations, log hours, and perform pre/post-trip checks. This permanent full-time position offers at least 40 hours weekly with benefits and a $25 per hour rate.

Qualifications

• CDL B license is required.
• Experience delivering and handling loads manually is a plus.
• Experience with DOT regulations and logging hours is expected.
• Ability to operate safely and professionally in customer-facing roles.

Responsibilities

• Safely collecting, delivering and storing medical waste containers at customer locations.
• Provide strong customer service and build positive relationships.
• Operate vehicles in a safe manner and adhere to schedules.
• Complete deliveries on time and communicate changes or challenges clearly.
• Load and unload, organize truck per schedule, and manage route as directed.
• Comply with DOT regulations, log hours and inspections, perform pre/post trips.
• Manual lifting up to 50 lbs and occasional 50–75 lbs; push/pull 100–250 lbs.

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer focused Class B driver operate a truck across the Taylor, MI area. You will be collecting sharps and medical waste containers from our healthcare customer locations and delivering a high level of customer service daily. This role offers a high degree of autonomy, stable hours, access to some OT and good benefits. Our vehicle fleet is modern and well-maintained. What will your job involve?

• Safely collecting, delivering and storing our medical waste containers at customer locations
• Providing strong customer service and building positive customer relationships
• Operating vehicles in a safe manner
• Completing deliveries to time schedule, and clearly communicating changes or challenges as they arise
• Loading and unloading | Prioritizing and organizing your truck per schedule and needs
• Managing a route per leaderships direction | delivering timely, efficient and effective service
• Complying with DOT regulations, logging hours and roadside inspections
• Heavy lifting
• Consistently lifting up to 50 lbs, with occasional lifting of 50-75 lbs
• Pushing/or pulling of 100-250 lbs, as applicable to the role

What are we looking for?

• CDL B License Required
• Delivery experience within any industry where you have dealt with manual handling (advantageous not mandatory)
• Willingness to work full time hours, approx. 40 hours a week
• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations
• Passing our 7 Year FADV review in the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
• A flexible, can-do attitude with a strong customer focus
• Experience operating vehicles in a safe manner (as large as 26 ft box trucks)
• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, roadside inspections
• Confident in a road check level 1 through level 3
• Proven longevity in past employment
• On time delivery practices
