Box Clever in San Francisco is seeking an Industrial Design Intern for a 3–6 month, in-person internship starting November 2026. You will join a fast-paced studio to contribute to client projects, co-design products, and gain real-world experience across development phases.

The role requires advancing CAD skills with Solidworks/Rhino and a strong eye for visual direction, plus the ability to sketch concepts, print prototypes, and collaborate with leadership and team members.

Formación

• Must be pursuing or have completed a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design.
• Strong CAD skills and ability to translate sketches to CAD models.
• Ability to prepare designs for DFM and incorporate feedback from partners.
• Proficiency in digital visualization to engage clients.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking an Industrial Design Intern in our SF studio, for a 3-6 month period (dependent on availability), who is passionate about creating exceptional products that people love. You’ll play an active role in client projects, getting real-world hands-on experience, contributing to co-designing products that launch. This is a paid, in-person internship, with the opportunity to be hired full-time.

Responsibilities

• As an Industrial Design Intern, you will work on and support projects in all phases of development.
• Explore a range of visual directions and participate in client reviews.
• Sketch industrial design concepts as part of a collaborative project team.
• Support ideation through physical mockups, including 3D printing.
• Participate in brainstorms and collaborative activities.
• Take direction from our Leadership team.
• Work collaboratively across all levels of the team.
• Support product research and inspirational image gathering.

Skills & Behaviors

Must have or be working towards a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design.

• Strong CAD skills to bring quick ideas from sketch to CAD and take input from design leads.
• Able to prepare design for DFM and incorporate feedback from partners (Solidworks, Rhino).
• Strong Digital Viz skills to emotionally engage clients (Keyshot, Vizcom, Flora).
• A passion for design and eagerness to learn.
• Excellence in communicating design both visually and verbally.
• Ability to retouch photography and renderings (Adobe Photoshop).
• Ability to create presentations to support the design process (Google Slides).
• Collaborative and Inclusive.

Your design portfolio should include your best and most recent work.

The internship will require a minimum 3 month commitment and is in San Francisco.
