Summary

This position is located at Pine Plains Bowling Center. It is part of the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, dedicated to enhancing the lives of Soldiers and their Families by providing essential support services, including child and youth programs and a variety of recreational activities that directly contribute to Soldier readiness and well‑being.

Eligibility

Open to U.S. Citizens and Non‑U.S. Nationals who meet the following requirements:

• U.S. citizens, nationals, or those who owe allegiance to the U.S.
• Non‑U.S. nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territories for at least three continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
• Live within 100 miles of Fort Drum, NY.

Duties

• Maintain, adjust, and repair a variety of bowling equipment having mechanical, electrical, and electronic parts, components, and assemblies.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions using manufacturer diagrams, specifications, schematics, and wiring diagrams with test equipment such as continuity testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters, and feeler gauges.
• Conduct operational checks, visually inspect for worn or damaged parts, trace wiring, disassemble, and make necessary adjustments or replacements. Clean, lubricate, and reassemble equipment.
• Repair cracks, chips, and splinters in bowling pins and lanes using wood plastic, lane stock. Sand surfaces and recoat with appropriate finishes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment

• Work requires frequent bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, standing and working in awkward positions.

• Requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation.
• Must accept intermittent, on‑call employment; work schedule will be irregular, covering nights, weekends, holidays, and unique events.

Allowances and Differentials

• Jobs falls under Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. Employees may receive overtime, Sunday premium pay, and potentially extra pay if the majority of scheduled hours fall after 3:00 PM.
• Non‑foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
