Job description

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assist the GSR bowling center management in the scheduling of the bowling department.
  • Attend GSR bowling center management meeting and give updates on the bowling department. Prepare and provide proper and professional service to all guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner remembering to make constant contact with both internal and external guests to provide optimal guest service.
  • Ensure pin spotters, scoring system, lane machine, lanes, bumpers, and all other related items are functioning and in proper working order.
  • Train other leads & attendants in a positive, respectful manner and to encourage their growth in their career.
  • Promote all bowling, drink and food specials and events as requested.
  • Input and ring-up charges for guest’s orders using the POS system. Create a check for each transaction, make and return any change as needed.
  • Always maintain cleanliness and sanitation of guest areas and equipment including removing empty glasses/bottles, cleaning ashtrays, empting garbage, sweeping/mopping floors, scrubbing/sanitizing equipment, etc.
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of bowling center daily including, before, after and during shift. Refill chemicals, hand soap containers, etc.
  • Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice. Answer questions and aid provide guest satisfaction. Relay accurate information to guests regarding hours of operation, hotel services, directions to local attractions or function rooms, car rentals, airline shuttle service, etc.
  • Verify incoming and current parties, groups and events for the day referring to the weekly event schedule and the event booking sheets always coordinating with the outgoing attendants to make sure nothing is missed.
  • Assist with clerical services, making sure league officers receive their league standings and recap sheets prior to league practice and making sure that their filled-out recaps are returned after league is over and placed in the to do cubby in the office to be processed for the following week.
  • Assist leagues, tournaments and special events with awards, ticket calling, side pot and bracket calls and whatever else they might need as requested.
  • Clean and organize approaches, the settee area, the concourse, tables, chairs, and all meeting rooms. Set up and break down meeting rooms and tables as needed.
  • Bring guests bowling ramps as requested.
  • Visually inspect rental shoes and house bowling balls for wear and tear. Replace as needed.
  • Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.

  • Ability to verbally communicate in English and attend and participate in meetings to be informed of new rules, regulation, and procedures and to discuss other concerns.
  • Ability of simple reading, writing, math, and task completion skills is required.
  • Must have the following skills: coordination, instructing, following instructions, influencing others, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making.
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
  • Must be able to maintain appropriate Alcohol Awareness card.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
  • Previous bowling attendant experience preferred or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is constantly standing and walking, occasionally sitting, reaching overhead, bending over, crouching, kneeling, crawling, and balancing during the duration of their shift.
  • Must be able to lift/carry and push/pull 50lbs or less occasionally.
  • The team member will occasionally have repetitive use of both hands, light grasping motions and firm/strong grasping motions. Finger dexterity of both hands will be occasionally required.
  • Frequent use of vision abilities is required including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work performed consistently indoors alone and frequently with and around others. Team Member will perform work face-to-face including verbal contact with others on extended shifts around computer equipment, electrical, and mechanical devices.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Team member may be exposed to solvents/oils, dirt/dust, moving objects, and slippery surfaces.
