MWR Academy Bowling Alley in New London, CT is seeking a Recreation Aid to support a variety of recreational activities and ensure smooth operation of the bowling facility. The role involves assisting with youth and community programs, equipment handling, and customer service.

The position requires lifting up to 45 lbs, basic math skills, and good communication. It offers an intermittent work schedule and the opportunity to contribute to USCG MWR initiatives at the New London location.

Qualifications

• Learn USCG MWR policies, rules and regulations; communicate orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs; heavier items with assistance.
• Experience performing duties similar to those listed.
• Six months’ experience in the assigned recreational activity is desired.

Responsabilités

• Provide oversight of activities and services to patrons, including information on equipment usage.
• Issue tools, equipment and games to customers; check IDs and collect fees when appropriate.
• Assist in directing patrons, scheduling courts, lanes and equipment.
• Check inventories and supplies; participate in games and events; decorate rooms and maintain areas; demonstrate simple arts and crafts techniques.
• Ensure adherence to regulations and safety procedures; monitor security of premises.
• Assist with routine reports, clerical, custodial, and general maintenance duties; operate a cash register and handle payments.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
