Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is advertising a Bovine Tuberculosis (bTB) Epidemiology Vet role in Wales. You will lead epidemiological analysis to support bTB control, advise policy, and collaborate with APHA, Aberystwyth University, and stakeholders to inform eradication strategies.

The role involves on-call duties and out-of-hours work as required, with emphasis on data manipulation, CPD, and continuous improvement in epidemiology and policy application.

Qualifications

• Experience in veterinary epidemiology and policy development.
• Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
• Ability to communicate with policy customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Leading epidemiological analysis and evidence generation to support bTB control and eradication in Wales.
• Providing specialist veterinary and epidemiological advice to inform policy, disease control and operational decision-making.
• Working with scientific partners and veterinary teams to enhance surveillance, analysis and the application of epidemiological evidence.
• Regularly engaging with science colleagues at Aberystwyth University and Weybridge to support and utilize analytical work in Wales.
• Communicating the outcomes of reports and analyses to policy customers, risk groups, and veterinary colleagues via written documents.
