Job summary

The Chanler, Newport, RI seeks a hands-on Controller to lead the hotel's accounting and financial functions. You will partner with the General Manager and ownership to safeguard assets, support operational excellence, and ensure high standards of guest service.

You will oversee month-end close, budgets, forecasts, payroll, and financial reporting while maintaining strong internal controls in a fast-paced luxury environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 3–5 years in accounting/finance with supervisory experience preferred.
• Hospitality experience in luxury settings preferred.
• Experience with hotel accounting, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Strong Excel skills; comfortable with multiple software systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting and month-end close.
• Monitor daily financial activity and provide timely reporting.
• Maintain internal controls and safeguard assets.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and analyze variances.
• Partner with GM and ownership on financial strategy.
