Job summary

Turnberry Isle in Florida is seeking an experienced Bartender to deliver luxury service in a resort setting. You will mix cocktails, attend to guest needs, present menus, and ensure beverage quality and accurate checks.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of luxury-bar experience, knowledge of cocktails and wines, TIPS certification, and familiarity with Micros POS systems. Flexible scheduling and strong guest-communication skills are required.

Scope of PositionThe Bartender is primarily responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction by mixing and serving cocktails, filling the server’s orders, and serving food at the guest’s request in a luxury brand-inspired hotel environment where attention to detail is key. The Bartender will provide guests with the best efficient, accurate, and genuine service possible and exceed guest expectations by paying attention to guests' needs. He/she will also possess a limitless desire to attain the highest levels of quality and cleanliness in all areas of the Food and Beverage Operations and apply hotel standards and procedures.Position RequirementsOutstanding guest service and communication skills, professional presentation, and neat appearance.Minimum 2 years experience mixing and serving beverages in a luxury resort or high-volume restaurant.Knowledge of popular cocktails and wines is required.Basic computer knowledge (Micros or other POS Systems).Must be of minimum legal age to serve alcohol according to state law.TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certificate is required.Excellent eye for detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Effective at listening, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by guests.ResponsibilitiesGreet each guest promptly after seating in a sincerely warm, friendly manner using the guest’s name.Presents menu, answer questions and make suggestions regarding beverage and food.Know the ingredients, preparation, and proper presentation of all beverage items and specials to ensure that every product delivered to the guest adheres to the highest quality possible.Prepare drink orders for guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems.Remain observant and check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each beverage and/or food course.Prepare fresh garnishes for drinks.Stock ice, glassware, and paper supplies.Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs.Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, and product availability.Know the layout of the restaurant/hotel and the location of all equipment and supplies.Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas.Set up and maintain cleanliness and condition of bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools.Assist as needed to maintain standards of appearance, sanitation, and service in all areas of the restaurant.Key in (pre-check) orders on the Micros terminal promptly and accurately.Present physical and accurate checks to guests and process payment.Ensure compliance with all state alcohol requirements.Follows guidelines as outlined in Turnberry Isle Employee Handbook.Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.EducationHigh school diploma or GED.Skills and AbilitiesAbility to communicate in the English language. A second language is a plus.Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.Knowledge of basic food handling policies and procedures as well as the techniques and equipment for preparing and presenting food products for consumption, including storage/handling techniques, proper chemical handling, and sanitation standards.Physical RequirementsMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment.Must be physically fit to move, lift, carry, pull, push, and place items up to 50 pounds.Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout the shift.
