Job summary

SMS Data Products Group seeks a Boundary Systems Engineer to support the AFCENT NOSC contract at Shaw Air Force Base. The role focuses on operating and securing an enterprise boundary management environment across NIPRNet/SIPRNet and related C2 systems.

Responsibilities include analyzing firewall reports, implementing solutions, configuring DNS/BIND services, and providing engineering support for firewall and UNIX/Linux environments while coordinating with local help desks and engineers.

Qualifications

• BS in related field and 5+ years relevant IT experience
• Or 7+ years relevant IT experience
• Firewall and Unix/Linux experience
• Ability to implement and enforce local network usage policies and procedures
• Experience with Windows Server installations in host/compute environments and server images
• Storage solutions, DNS, DHCP, remote access, and core network infrastructure maintenance

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage the enterprise boundary management server
• Analyze firewall reports and logs to identify anomalies and implement solutions
• Configure and maintain DNS/BIND domains and firewall features at an enterprise level
• Provide on-the-job training to local help desk personnel and engineers
• Assist with engineering new security device implementations
• Perform planning, designing, upgrading, and deployment of data center hardware/software
