Job summary

The City of Goodyear is seeking an experienced Survey Technician to provide technical support for surveying and related activities that contribute to the successful delivery of CIP and Development Services projects. The role is primarily office-based with occasional field confirmations and site visits.

The ideal candidate will have strong GIS and surveying instrument experience (GNSS/GPS, total stations, AutoCAD Civil 3D), plus three years of land-survey work and a valid driver’s license; you

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of land-survey experience, especially boundary/ROW.
• Ability to read and interpret plats, deeds, easements and title records.
• Experience with GIS analysis and modern survey instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform ROW research, prepare and review legal descriptions.
• Examine property deeds, easements and title reports for CIP/DSD projects.
• Verify base-map ROW and utilities against recorded documents.
• Conduct GIS data analysis and support mapping tasks for CIP/DSD teams.
• Occasionally visit sites to confirm boundaries and description elements.
• Coordinate with CIP and Development Services staff to communicate findings.
