Job summary

Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center is seeking a Bouldering Instructor to provide instruction, supervision, and safety oversight for participants in its climbing programs. The role focuses on teaching core bouldering skills while promoting safe practices and a positive learning environment for diverse age groups.

The instructor will maintain records, participate in staff trainings, and support the climbing wall area to ensure a welcoming and secure experience for all climbers.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.
• Must submit to a criminal background check.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• Bouldering instructor certification/training preferred; training may be required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction, supervision, and safety oversight for participants in bouldering programs.
• Teach fundamental bouldering skills and techniques.
• Promote safe climbing practices and maintain a welcoming climbing environment.
• Maintain positive instruction appropriate to participants’ age and skill level.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to area planning as needed.
