Job summary

Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative in Milwaukie, OR is seeking a part-time customer service associate at our BottleDrop Redemption Center. You will greet customers, maintain a clean and organized facility, and support daily operations with a friendly, professional demeanor.

Responsibilities include educating customers on Oregon’s Bottle Bill and the BottleDrop system, handling cash and transactions, data entry, and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Customer service and/or cash handling experience preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the appearance of the facility inside and outside including sweeping, mopping, wiping down counters, machines, windows and doors, properly storing supplies and cleaning the break room and restrooms.
• Educate and introduce customers to Oregon’s Bottle Bill and the BottleDrop system.
• Assist BottleDrop customers with kiosk, payment slips, bags, tags, hand counts, and reverse vending machines (RVMs).
• Enforce daily limits in a professional and considerate manner.
• Efficiently and accurately complete all data entry requirements and the processing of beverage containers.
• Safely operate, maintain and troubleshoot equipment and Redemption Center tools.
• Escalate repair issues when necessary.
• Adhere to OSHA Safety Standards and OBRC policies.
• Adhere to proper PPE usage in designated areas of RC.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Summary

Responsible for delivering superior customer service in a friendly, professional and considerate manner. Maintain the appearance of the BottleDrop Redemption Center and surrounding area to meet company standards.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Education/Experience

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• Work outdoors in various temperatures/conditions.
• Exposure to industrial equipment with moving mechanical parts.
• Occasional exposure to odors of empty beverage containers.
• Noise levels in designated areas of the redemption center require the use of approved hearing protection.
• Must be able to frequently lift/carry up to 30lbs.
• Must be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Push/pull 50+ lbs. frequently (wheeled bag racks).
• Talking and hearing is frequently required.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to stand and walk.
• Must be able to bend/stoop/crouch/squat.
• Must be able to use arms/wrists/hands/grasp.
• Must be able to occasionally climb and balance.
