Job summary

Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative (OBRC) is seeking a BottleDrop Center Supervisor to oversee daily operations at an assigned BottleDrop Redemption Center. You will supervise a team to meet business and safety demands, provide excellent customer service, and ensure efficient processing and cleanliness of the facility.

The role requires prior supervisory experience, cash handling skills, and the ability to train and onboard new staff while adhering to OSHA and OBRC policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory/management experience in retail or production preferred.
  • BottleDrop experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations at assigned BottleDrop Redemption Center.
  • Supervise all team members to meet daily work assignments and company standards.
  • Lead team to maintain a positive and safe environment for all associates.
  • Adhere to OSHA standards and OBRC policies including PPE and LOTO.
  • Responsible for opening and/or closing the center.
  • Assist with hiring via tours, interviews, onboarding and training.
  • Write and distribute team schedules.
  • Educate customers about Oregon’s Bottle Bill and BottleDrop system.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain equipment (RVMs, pay stations, kiosks, printers).
  • Ensure accurate cash handling and reconciliation.
  • Approve timecards in the electronic timekeeping system.
  • Escalate repair issues as needed.
  • Coordinate incoming/outgoing materials and trailers.
  • Maintain supply inventory and monthly orders.
  • Communicate with other departments as needed.
  • Perform the functions of all team members.

Summary

The BottleDrop Center Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations of assigned BottleDrop Redemption Center. The ideal candidate will act in a positive, professional manner while supervising a team of employees to meet business and safety demands. Additional responsibilities include customer service, cash handling, maintaining equipment, loading and unloading trailers, efficient processing of materials and maintaining cleanliness of facility.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day operations at assigned BottleDrop Redemption Center
  • Supervise (all team members) to complete daily work assignments, maintain company standards, and follow company policies and procedures
  • Lead team members in providing a positive and safe environment for all associates
  • Adhere to OSHA Safety Standards and OBRC policies including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment and Lock Out Tag Out
  • Responsible for opening and/or closing the BottleDrop Redemption Center
  • Assist with the hiring process by facilitating BottleDrop tours, interviews, employee onboarding and training
  • Write and distribute team schedule
  • Educate and introduce customers to Oregon’s Bottle Bill and the BottleDrop system
  • Troubleshoot and maintain equipment, including pre-sorts, reverse vending machines (RVMs), floor scrubber, pay station, kiosks and printers
  • Ensure accuracy of cash handling and reconciliation
  • Approve timecards within electronic timekeeping system
  • Escalate repair issues when necessary
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing material and trailers
  • Maintain supply inventory and submit monthly supply orders
  • Communicate with other departments within OBRC as needed
  • Perform the functions of (all team members)
  • Other job duties as assigned
Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent education is required
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory/management experience required, preferably in a retail or production environment
  • BottleDrop Experience preferred but not required

  • Cash handling experience required
  • Excellent customer service skills with ability to effectively diffuse and resolve customer complaints
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate professionally at all levels with internal and external business partners
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects, adhere to deadlines, handle frequent changes effectively and professionally, follow through on issues in a timely manner, and give excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
  • Work indoors and outdoors as needed in various temperatures/conditions.
  • Exposure to industrial equipment with moving mechanical parts, vibration, sharp objects and cleaning products.
  • Occasional exposure to odors of empty beverage containers.
  • Noise levels in designated areas require the use of approved hearing protection.
  • Must be able to frequently lift/carry up to 30lbs.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Push/pull 50+ lbs. frequently (wheeled bag racks).
  • Talking and hearing is frequently required.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to stand and walk.
  • Must be able to bend/stoop/crouch/squat.
  • Must be able to use arms/wrists/hands/grasp.
  • Must be able to occasionally climb and balance.
