Job summary

The Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative is seeking a BottleDrop Center Supervisor to oversee daily operations of the BottleDrop Redemption Center in Albany. You will supervise a team, ensure safety, manage cash handling, and coordinate with maintenance and logistics to keep the center running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and at least two years of supervisory experience, with strong customer service, communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory/management experience in retail or production preferred.
  • Cash handling experience required.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to diffuse and resolve complaints.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; communicate professionally at all levels.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations at the BottleDrop Redemption Center.
  • Supervise all team members to complete daily tasks and adhere to policies.
  • Lead a positive, safe environment in accordance with OSHA standards and OBRC policies.
  • Open and/or close the BottleDrop Center as needed.
  • Facilitate hiring activities including tours and onboarding.
  • Write and distribute team schedules.

The ideal candidate will act in a positive, professional manner while supervising a team of employees to meet business and safety demands. Additional responsibilities include customer service, cash handling, maintaining equipment, loading and unloading trailers, efficient processing of materials and maintaining cleanliness of facility.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day operations at assigned BottleDrop Redemption CenterSupervise (all team members) to complete daily work assignments, maintain company standards, and follow company policies and proceduresLead team members in providing a positive and safe environment for all associatesAdhere to OSHA Safety Standards and OBRC policies including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment and Lock Out Tag OutResponsible for opening and/or closing the BottleDrop Redemption CenterAssist with the hiring process by facilitating BottleDrop tours, interviews, employee onboarding and trainingWrite and distribute team scheduleEducate and introduce customers to Oregon’s Bottle Bill and the BottleDrop systemTroubleshoot and maintain equipment, including pre-sorts, reverse vending machines (RVMs), floor scrubber, pay station, kiosks and printersEnsure accuracy of cash handling and reconciliationApprove timecards within electronic timekeeping systemEscalate repair issues when necessaryCoordinate incoming and outgoing material and trailersMaintain supply inventory and submit monthly supply ordersCommunicate with other departments within OBRC as neededPerform the functions of (all team members)Other job duties as assignedEducation/ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent education is requiredMinimum 2 years supervisory/management experience required, preferably in a retail or production environmentBottleDrop Experience preferred but not requiredRequirements – Skills, Job Knowledge & AbilitiesCash handling experience requiredExcellent customer service skills with ability to effectively diffuse and resolve customer complaintsStrong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate professionally at all levels with internal and external business partnersDemonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects, adhere to deadlines, handle frequent changes effectively and professionally, follow through on issues in a timely manner, and give excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracyComputer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and ExcelSupervisory ResponsibilityThis position has direct supervisor responsibilityTravelNoneWorking Conditions/Physical RequirementsWork indoors and outdoors as needed in various temperatures/conditions.Exposure to industrial equipment with moving mechanical parts, vibration, sharp objects and cleaning products.Occasional exposure to odors of empty beverage containers.Noise levels in designated areas require the use of approved hearing protection.Must be able to frequently lift/carry up to 30lbs.Must be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.Push/pull 50+ lbs. frequently (wheeled bag racks).Talking and hearing is frequently required.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Must be able to stand and walk.Must be able to bend/stoop/crouch/squat.Must be able to use arms/wrists/hands/grasp.Must be able to occasionally climb and balance.
