Job summary

Silgan Containers in Kentucky is seeking a factory associate to inspect, pack and prepare bottles on assigned lines. You will pull plastics, operate a punch, load conveyors or flamers, and ensure cartons are labeled and tickets prepared. A strong attention to detail and reliability are essential.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and about 1 year of manufacturing experience. You must be able to lift up to 30 lb and maintain a safe, clean work environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of manufacturing experience required.
• Must be dependable with good attendance and able to read bottle specs to ensure proper inspection.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment.
• Adhere to Silgan safety policies to prevent injury to self and co-workers.
• Monitor ware for quality defects and promptly inform the operator and/or the coordinator.
• Pack at standard rate.
• Operate a punch.
• Load conveyors and flamers.
• Maintain housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine.
• Remove scrap from around the line.
• Grind and pull plastic as needed.
• Make and unitize cartons; initial and date box labels.
• Make out unit tickets.
• Do any other work as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Ability to work with 30 lb. materials
