Job summary

Silgan Plastics Corporation is seeking an on-site production worker to inspect and pack bottles on assigned lines at standard rates. The role includes assisting in scrap removal, grinding, scrap handling, and packing blank or decorated bottles. Training on punches, conveyors, flamers, and carton unitizing may be provided.

Qualifications

• Duties include inspecting and packing bottles at standard rate on assigned line(s).
• Assist in scrap removal, grinding, and general housekeeping.
• May operate a punch, load conveyors or flamers, and unitize cartons.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment on the line.
• Adhere to Silgan safety policies and prevent injuries.
• Monitor ware for quality defects and inform supervisor or coordinator.
• Pack bottles at standard rate and on schedule.
• Operate a punch and load conveyors/flamers as required.
• Keep the line and area clean and mop as needed.
• Remove scrap and pull plastic as necessary.
• Make and unitize cartons and label boxes.
• Prepare unit tickets and paperwork as assigned.
• Follow supervisor instructions and perform other duties as needed.
