Job summary

Metropolitan Community College is seeking enthusiastic, experienced non-credit instructors to lead hands-on plant-related art classes for Spring 2027 and beyond. Courses may cover watercolor paints from plants, natural dyes, botanical paper making, and sustainability.

Instructors design curriculum, deliver engaging content, supervise participants, and foster a positive learning environment across MCC locations including Fremont.

Qualifications

  • Teaching experience (all ages).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deliver engaging and practical course content.
  • Passion for teaching and helping others achieve personal growth and enrichment.
  • Knowledge of utilizing plant-based materials in arts, such as in watercolors or dyes.

Responsibilities

  • Create curriculum for plant-related art classes.
  • Lead activities from the curriculum and supervise participants.
  • Promote student engagement and create a positive learning experience.
  • Provide a safe, supportive, and interactive learning environment.
  • Instructors may have teaching assignments throughout the year at multiple locations.
