Job summary

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seeks motivated Officers to enforce borders across the United States. As a CBPO, you will conduct inspections, determine admissibility, and help prevent illegal entry while earning strong base pay, extensive federal benefits, and job stability.

Positions are available at GS-5, GS-7, or GS-9 with potential for promotion to GS-11/12. Recruitment incentives up to $15,000 per year may be offered for prioritized locations, with a multi-year service commitment.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of general experience, 1 year at GS-4 level or higher, to meet general duties.
• A conferred bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.
• A combination of experience and education may be considered for qualification.

Responsibilities

• Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
• Ensuring the flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances.
• Determining admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States.
• Preventing illegal entry and smuggling of contraband.
