Job summary

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring a Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) to enforce laws at points of entry across the United States. This role offers a pathway from GS-5 to GS-12 with promotion potential and strong federal benefits.

New officers may receive recruitment incentives, relocation considerations, and access to health, dental, and other insurance. Duty locations include multiple sites nationwide with specialized training upon hire.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for federal employment.
• Experience performing inspections of people or goods is required.
• Ability to make rapid, accurate judgments under law enforcement conditions.

Responsibilities

• Enforce customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
• Conduct inspections of individuals and conveyances.
• Determine admissibility of individuals entering the United States.
• Prevent illegal entry of people and prohibited goods and contraband.
