Job summary

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is the federal agency protecting U.S. borders and enforcing immigration, customs and agriculture laws. CBPOs perform inspections and determine admissibility, supporting operations across multiple duty locations with stable pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• GS-5 requires 3 years of general experience or a bachelor’s degree or combination of experience and education.
• GS-7 requires 1 year of specialized experience or equivalent.
• GS-9 can be met by 1 year of specialized experience or graduate education or a combination.

Responsibilities

• Enforce customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
• Ensure the flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Conduct inspections of individuals and conveyances.
• Determine admissibility of entrants into the United States.
• Prevent illegal entry and smuggling of prohibited goods.
