Job summary

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring CBPOs to enforce customs, immigration, and agriculture laws at U.S. borders. Roles include inspecting individuals and conveyances, determining admissibility for entry, and preventing illegal activities while ensuring lawful travel and trade.

The position offers base pay with overtime and a comprehensive benefits package through federal employment opportunities. Advancement is possible from GS-5 through GS-12, with locations across the United States

Qualifications

Experience performing inspections and applying laws at borders or points of entry.
Ability to determine admissibility of individuals and assess safety and compliance.
Understanding of federal law enforcement procedures and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Enforce customs, immigration, and agricultural laws and regulations.
Inspect individuals and conveyances to ensure compliance and security.
Determine admissibility of individuals entering the United States and prevent prohibited goods from entering.
Conduct inspections and enforcement actions to deter smuggling and illegal activity.
Coordinate with other agencies and use informed judgment for enforcement decisions.
