Job summary

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seeks a Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) to enforce borders and laws at designated duty locations across the United States. The role includes inspections, determining admissibility, and ensuring legitimate travel and trade flows.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• GS-5/GS-7/GS-9 qualification options include education or experience as described (e.g., 3 years general experience or 1 year at GS-4, or a 4-year degree).
• Combination of experience and education acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
• Enforcing the flow of legitimate trade and travel.

• Determining admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States.
• Preventing illegal entries and contraband smuggling.
