Job summary

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking a CBPO (Customs and Border Protection Officer) across multiple duty locations in the United States. The role covers enforcing border, immigration, and trade laws, with competitive base pay and comprehensive federal benefits.

Salary bands vary by grade (GS-5/7/9) with promotion potential to GS-11/12. Incentives include up to $15,000 annually at selected duty locations and overtime eligibility up to $45,000.

Qualifications

• GS-5 requires 3 years general experience or a bachelor’s degree or combination.
• GS-7 requires 1 year specialized experience and related abilities.
• GS-9 requires 1 year specialized experience plus related education or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
• Enforcing the flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances.
• Determining admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States.
• Preventing illegal entry of individuals, contraband and drugs.
