Job summary

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) invites applicants for CBPO roles with attractive recruitment incentives and a clear GS-grade progression. The position spans numerous duty locations across the United States, with a comprehensive training and deployment plan for new officers.

Candidates must meet stringent citizenship, residency, and education requirements and will undergo a paid pre-academy and academy training.

Qualifications

• Experience: at least 1 year at next lower grade level in law enforcement or related field.
• Education substitution: Master’s degree or higher, LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited institution; or
• Combination of experience and education may be used.

Responsibilities

• Detaining suspected violators and arrests using proper techniques.
• Enforcing laws related to importing/exporting and international shipping.
• Using intelligence techniques and risk assessments to identify threats.
• Conducting interviews in a law enforcement capacity to gather information.
