Job summary

Customs and Border Protection seeks Officers to enforce federal laws at border checkpoints. Eligible applicants can advance through GS-5/7/9 grades, with opportunities for promotion and a strong benefits package.

Officers perform inspections, determine admissibility, and deter smuggling while contributing to national security. Training at FLETC is required, with locations across the U.S. including Texas.

Qualifications

• Experience in law enforcement duties including inspections, arrests, and regulatory enforcement.
• Ability to perform interviews and gather information for investigations.
• Strong knowledge of CBP laws, regulations, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Enforce customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
• Inspect individuals and conveyances to determine admissibility.
• Ensure flow of legitimate trade and travel; prevent illegal entry and smuggling.
