Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating the ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and remain calm under stress.
• A bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• A combination of general work experience and college education may qualify for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration and customs violations and inspect documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near borders using surveillance and tracking methods.
• Interpret and follow tracks, marks, and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Perform farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using vehicles, horses, vessels, and other assets.
