Qualifications

• Specialized experience in law enforcement or related work to interpret and enforce immigration or comparable laws, and to perform investigations and anti-smuggling activities.
• Make arrests and exercise sound judgment in the use of firearms, and deal courteously with individuals during enforcement matters.
• Analyze information rapidly and decide on appropriate law enforcement action within applicable laws and procedures.
• Develop and maintain a network of informants to support operations.

Responsibilities

• Detect and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near the borders using surveillance and patrols.
• Enforce immigration and customs laws and inspect documents to determine citizenship and violations.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets to fulfill USBP mission.
