U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking reemployed annuitants for a Border Patrol Agent role. The position is a term appointment at GS-12 with a salary range of $91,985.00 to $119,583.00, subject to locality adjustments.

Qualifications

  • Specialized Experience in law enforcement or related work showing ability to arrest and exercise sound judgment in enforcement actions.
  • Applicants must meet the requirements for the GS-12 grade level, including one year of specialized work experience at the next lower grade.

Responsibilities

  • Detect and question persons suspected of violating immigration laws and inspect documents to check citizenship or violations.
  • Prevent illegal entry and apprehend noncitizens and smugglers near borders using a variety of field assets.
  • Patrol international boundaries and coastal waters by land, vehicle, aircraft, or watercraft to fulfill USBP mission.
