Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) as part of its Federal Law Enforcement Officer cadre. The position offers full-time roles at multiple grades with robust benefits, extensive duty locations, and tiered recruitment incentives up to $50,000 over time.

Training at the Border Patrol Academy is provided. Qualifying education and experience range from a bachelor’s degree to equivalent work experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of immigration and nationality law basics.
• Familiarity with use-of-force policy and firearm safety.
• Understanding of criminal law and procedure basics.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws, inspecting documents and possessions.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented individuals and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night-vision assets.
