Customs and Border Protection (CBP) invites applicants for Border Patrol Agent positions at entry and mid-level career grades. Employees support border security, law enforcement, and travel/trade facilitation while benefiting from federal employment perks and potential recruitment incentives.

Certain duty locations offer prioritization and incentives, with base pay varying by grade and location. Candidates must meet the GL-5/7/9/11 minimums and complete Academy training at CBP facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field from an accredited college or university.
• Combination of experience and education may be considered.
• One year of general work experience may qualify when combined with education.

Responsabilités

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws; inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented individuals and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night operations.
• Interpret tracks and evidence of illegal entry, perform farm/building/traffic checks, and patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways with government assets.
