U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking Border Patrol Agents to secure the nation’s borders and enforce federal laws. This role involves patrols, investigations, and collaboration with multiple agencies across remote and challenging environments.

Entry-level pay starts around $51,000 annually, with possible incentives after training. Candidates may relocate to duty locations and pursue a six-month paid academy in Artesia, NM.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and meet residency rules.
• Typically under age 40 at appointment, with possible exceptions.
• Education/work experience requirements apply for eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Patrol border areas to detect and prevent illegal entry into the United States.
• Detect, identify, and apprehend individuals suspected of violations.
• Conduct surveillance, inspections, questioning, and examinations of individuals, vehicles, and property.
• Gather and evaluate information through observation, interviews, documents, and records.
• Respond to and investigate potential border-security and immigration violations.
• Detect and interdict illegal drugs, contraband, and other items.
• Operate vehicles, communications equipment, and surveillance systems.
• Prepare reports, maintain records, and document enforcement activities.
• Work with federal, state, local, tribal, and international agencies.
• Make sound decisions and stay calm in stressful situations.
• Relocate to assigned duty locations as needed.
