U.S. Customs and Border Protection is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) for full-time, entry to mid-level roles. The salary ranges from $51,632 to $124,717 per year, with comprehensive federal benefits and potential recruitment/retention incentives.

Duties include border surveillance, inquiries, and enforcement, with multiple duty locations across the U.S. Selections will consider education or relevant public safety experience.

Qualifications

• Education substitution allows a bachelor's degree or equivalent coursework.
• Combination of experience and education may qualify for higher grades.
• Specialized experience may qualify you for higher grades (GL-9/GS-11).

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws; inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night-vision equipment.
• Interpret tracks and evidence of illegal entry; perform various checks and patrols; use government assets to fulfill the USBP mission.
