Responsibilities

• patrol border areas to prevent illegal entry
• detect, identify, and apprehend individuals violating federal laws
• conduct surveillance, inspections, and examinations of people, vehicles, and property
• gather information through observation and questioning
• respond to potential border-security and immigration violations
• interdict illegal drugs and contraband
• operate LE technology and equipment
• prepare reports and document enforcement activities
• work with federal, state, local, tribal, and international agencies
• make sound decisions and stay composed in stressful situations
• relocate to assigned duty locations as needed
