Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection seeks Border Patrol Agents to join a large federal law enforcement corps. Duties include border surveillance, questioning individuals, and enforcing immigration and customs laws across U.S.

duty locations. Benefits include health plans and retirement programs with potential incentives for recruitment and retention. As a BPA, you will learn and apply immigration law, use firearms, and conduct patrols.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of immigration and nationality law and enforcement procedures.
• Knowledge of use-of-force policies and firearms basics.
• Ability to analyze information, make quick decisions and maintain composure under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violations; inspect documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Pursue and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders; use surveillance and infrared equipment.
• Interpret evidence and perform checks across multiple locations and duties as part of border enforcement.
