Job Summary:

About the Position:

This position is a part of our Transportation Services department within the Facilities Planning and Management Division at UW-Madison. The Booth Attendant is responsible for collecting parking fees at the exit of staffed parking structures and to assist permit holders when having difficulties exiting the parking structure while maintaining the customer service standards Transportation Services has set. The Booth Attendant is an on site position. The expected schedule for this position is Saturday and Sunday 8:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

About our Transportation Services department:

UW Transportation Services is a department within Facilities Planning and Management (FP&M) on the UW-Madison campus. We serve a variety of customers with a diverse set of parking and transportation needs. Transportation Services is responsible for the coordination and administration of all transportation-related services for the UW campus community. Primary functions include the sale/management of parking permits, special event coordination, maintenance and enforcement, construction coordination, lot and booth operations, citation payments and appeals, information technology, financial, transportation planning, and development of multimodal options.

About the Division of Facilities Planning& Management (FP&M):

The Division of Facilities Planning& Management (FP&M) is a full-spectrum service organization that builds, maintains, and operates the physical environment of UW-Madison in the university's education, research, and outreach activities. We are responsible for everything from the building projects that change the face of campus to the flowers

that beautify the grounds.

Responsibilities: Manages the operation of parking booths, leads and assists staff, and performs cash control and audit duties. Establishes and maintains a high level of customer service and works with other units to solve parking problems.

  • 40% Exchanges tickets and cash from customers as they enter or leave facilities
  • 15% Maintains fee computers
  • 10% Ensures safe and doors are locked whenever leaving the booth and at the end of each shift
  • 10% Informs customers of parking policies and acts courteously. Assists customers by giving directions, calling for emergencies, and locating vehicles
  • 10% Maintains lots by contacting enforcement for the citation or removal of vehicles that are illegally parked
  • 5% Assists in the training of new employees
  • 5% Continuously updates knowledge of UW Parking rules/regulations with effective communication skills to convey this information to the customer
  • 5% Monitors and responds to traffic flow with a high level working knowledge of T2 parking systems to spontaneously resolve lot traffic issues

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Minimum $20.00 HOURLY

Depending On Qualifications

The minimum hourly rate for this position is $20.00, but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive night differential of $2.50 per hour when you work between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
